Band Accomplishments
2006-2007 School Year
: The Middle School Concert Band received the top rating possible of strait 1's resulting in an overall rating of 1 at the District MSBOA Festival. The Concert Band then proceeded on to State MSBOA Festival and once again received the top rating possible of straight 1's resulting in an overall rating of 1.

2007-2008 School Year: Eight students from the Middle School Concert Band auditioned and were selected to participate in the MSBOA District 11 Honors Band. Students who audition for this opportunity are placed into one of two ensembles. All of our students were invited to be in the top ensemble. Following are the students who received this honor:

Susan Balkema - Bass Clarinet
Taylor Berghuis - Trumpet
Alex Abbott - Trumpet
Alex Hinton - Trumpet
Leo Tanja - Trombone
Antonio Mitchell - Tuba

Band Educational Opportunities
Annual Chicago Symphony Field Trip: Students have the opportunity to tour the Chicago Symphony Center, experience a live jazz performance and listen to a performance by the world-renowned Chicago Symphony.
