The middle school program has different features and opportunities for our students.
Middle School End of the Quarter Celebration!
Every quarter we have a celebration and take our students on a field trip somewhere locally. This celebration is for those students who have no more than 6 missing or zero assignments.
• Fist Quarter –we will travel to Great Skate
• Second Quarter -we will travel to Wings Stadium for some ice skating.
• Third Quarter -we will do some bowling at Airway lanes.
• Last quarter -we stay “in-house” and have our own movie theater, playing at least two movies, and opening our concession stand with pop and candy.
The Future City Competition
This is a national program sponsored by the National Engineers Week Committee occurring each February. The competition challenges students to design a city of the future and have fun doing so. This is a team-based program consisting of students, a teacher, and an engineer mentor. Throughout the competition, students will learn to apply their knowledge to real-world situations, while seeing how an engineer turns ideas into reality. They will be able to develop their problem-solving skills, as well as their ability to work as part of a team. They will conduct research and develop their presentation skills. The team this year consists of fifteen 7th and 8th graders.
